Khwaja Garib Nawaz Welfare Trust – Objectives and Areas of Work

Khwaja Garib Nawaz Welfare Trust is established with the broad objective of promoting social welfare, education, community development, national unity, and the preservation of religious and cultural values. The Trust seeks to foster brotherhood, mutual cooperation, harmony, love, and affection among people while contributing to national integration and supporting the secular character of India.

A major area of its activities is education and literacy. The Trust aims to establish and maintain educational institutions, including Madarsas providing instruction in Urdu, Arabic, and Persian. It also seeks to provide Quranic and Islamic education, including higher levels of Islamic theology and Darse-Nizami. Special emphasis is placed on the education of girls through Madrasatul Banaat, where Islamic education is combined with modern arts, sciences, and other contemporary subjects. Scholarships, stipends, and financial assistance are proposed for students pursuing technical, professional, and formal education. The Trust also intends to provide free education to poor and illiterate children, particularly those living in urban slums.

The Trust is equally committed to healthcare and social welfare. Its objectives include providing basic healthcare and charitable assistance, establishing poor houses, orphanages, widow shelters, and vocational training centres for blind and physically disabled persons. It also proposes programmes for the development of backward rural areas, including assistance for marriages, healthcare, employment generation, and other welfare activities.

The Trust further aims to establish libraries, public reading rooms, boarding facilities, and community institutions, as well as construct, manage, and renovate mosques. It proposes establishing Darul Ifta for religious guidance and Darul Qaza for resolving certain mutual domestic disputes. Through the publication and distribution of books and magazines on Islamic education, culture, language, and values, the Trust seeks to promote knowledge and preserve cultural heritage while making educational resources accessible to weaker sections of society.
